Stretch marks – What you should know about them

We see many women complain about the fuzzy grooves formed either on their bellies or their breasts because of sudden weight loss or pregnancy. These marks are at first red or purple, but with time, they darken and to some they can look hideous in case they are widely spread on the area.

There are women who have tried a myriad of treatments to remove their stretch marks in order to have the perfect body, while some women simply love them as they say these marks are completely natural and they don’t define them.

Stretch marks can happen to anyone

If you are someone who has suffered or is suffering from this condition, then you are not alone. This can happen to any woman in this world. We even have celebrities with stretch marks. You shouldn’t have your morale down while looking at these marks as you should know that it is completely normal and the product of nature.

These marks do not define you

Getting stretch marks do not define who you really are. Yes, they can give you a sense of motherhood, but they cannot stop you from doing anything you like to do. These marks are not your identity and in fact, they have come on your skin because of a natural process which is unique to you.

The cure

The cure of stretch marks is a debatable topic and many women have tried their hearts out in getting rid of them. A majority of them have passed the test and are now satisfied. Those who haven’t been cured are learning to live with them. The cure mainly includes use of some kind of moisturizer and medications such as Revitol and Rodial Stretch MX. In case the marks have crossed limits, they are treated with laser – a time consuming but effective method. There is cure available if you want to remove the stretch marks.

Not necessarily because of pregnancy

There is a general misconception about the cause of these marks and the most perceived one is that of pregnancy. What we should know is that the stretch marks’ victim can be anyone and of any age. It should be kept in mind that if you aren’t married or haven’t conceived a child and you have the marks, then those might be because of sudden weight loss or other causes.

Stretch marks aren’t that bad

Yes, they aren’t that bad. These marks are mainly the ‘markers’ of the fact that you are a woman and that you are a mother. Being a mother is a great feeling in itself. It is agreed that they look bad but if you can’t remove them, you must learn to live with them. There are a number of celebrities who simply doesn’t care about these marks and they have been going great in their careers. Before you could have your morale down because of them, think logically over them and you would find that they aren’t that bad.
